Scott R Kersjes
President
and Managing Partner
Scott
Kersjes is President and Managing Partner of Innovative Facilities Solutions, Inc. Prior to founding the
company in 2005 with partners Joe Hastings and Dan Hastings, he served as Senior Property & Construction Manager for Carr
Real Estate Services, Inc. In this capacity, Kersjes managed over 300,000 sq feet of rentable space owned
by George Washington University, negotiating the first new management agreement in 15 years. Additionally,
he developed and implemented a $5.2m capital improvement plan that included garage renovation, elevator modernization and
other improvements.
Prior to joining Carr Real Estate Services, Kersjes was Senior
Property/Construction Manager at Lincoln Property Company and Leggat McCall Properties. During his tenure
at Leggat McCall, he managed the regional portfolio of six office buildings and served on a team to redevelop class
C and B properties. During his 24-year career, Kersjes has held a variety of property and facility management
positions at companies including Polinger Shannon & Luchs Company, Mark Winkler Company, Barlow Corporation,
Stout and Teague/Fair Lakes Management and Charles E. Smith Management. Several of his facilities clients include IMF,
World Bank, Intelsat, and the InterAmerican Development Bank.
A graduate of Indiana
University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Kersjes served as an Infantry officer in the US Army and the US Army
Reserves from 1979 until 1995 when he retired as Captain. He has received the BOMI “Real Property
Administrator” designation, and held a Virginia Real Estate License. Kersjes is actively
involved in civic and community associations including serving as President of the Property Management Association, Treasurer
of Timberline Ski Patrol and an Instructor for Outdoor Emergency Care. In addition he has served in a variety
of capacities with the following organizations; West End Business Association (WEBA), Alexandrians Delivering Smart Growth
Around Metro (ADAM), Rebuilding Together Alexandria, Special Olympics, Towns at Cameron Parke HOA, Eisenhower Public Private
Partnership, Landsdowne HOA, and Lee District Land Use Subcommittee.
Joseph Hastings
Partner / Executive Vice President
Joe Hasting is a co-founder and partner in Innovative Facilities.
Prior to joining Innovative Facilities, Joe was founder and president of Hastings Architectural Restoration, Inc. Joe
has had over 25 years' experience in the restoration of wood, stone, and metal. In 1991, the Marble Institute
of America (MIA) certified him as one of nine Master Stone Restoration Craftsmen in the U.S. and abroad. Joe
uses his extensive knowledge and experience to teach the interior and exterior restoration of wood, stone and metal, throughout
the United States and abroad. One of his most highly attended lectures is given at the annual Stone EXPO,
the largest stone restoration, installation, and purchasing exhibit in the world.
Because his abilities are well respected in the restoration industry, he has had the opportunity to act as a restoration
consultant for many large clients. These companies include the Disney Corporation, the National Parks Service
Technology Preservation Service, Embassy of Kuwait, US Naval Academy, Hyatt and Hilton Hotels, etc.
Hastings holds a variety of positions within the following associations include
the Woodworkers Guild of America, Professional Wood Finishers Group, Marble Institute of America, National Trust for Historic
Preservation, Property Management Association (PMA), Apartment and Office Building Association (AOBA) of the Washington
Metropolitan area servicing as chairman of the ACT Committee for (AOBA) for 2004 & 2005, and International Facility Management
Association (IFMA). His additioanl service to AOBA includes serving as a judge, active board member, and
co-chairman of the Toby Awards Committee for AOBA. He has been appointed by the ACT Committee to be its
representative on the AOBA’s Strategic Planning Committee and Joe recently received AOBA’s Outstanding Leadership
Award and Associate of the Year Award for 2003.
Daniel Hastings / Executive Vice President

Dan Hastings is partner
and co-founder of Innovative Facilities. Previously, he was co-founder and partner of Hastings Architectural
Restoration, Inc. He has over 22 years' experience in restoration and maintenance of stone,
metal, and wood. Dan is a graduate of the International Association of Stone Restoration and Conservation
advanced curriculum and Mohawk Finishing Product in regards to repair and touch up of wood finishes. He was
a instructor of continuing education class at NTC Enterprises – (National Training Center) for stone restoration and
maintenance. Dan was the project manager for the stone division at Hastings and was responsible for
a large portfolio of class "A" lobby and exterior restorations.
Dan is a certified Home
Energy Auditor issued by the National Energy and Sustainability Institute.
Dan has extensive experience working with class "A" properties and their
owners and managers from Baltimore Maryland to Richmond Virginia.
Dan's
involvement in the commercial real estate industry includes PMA committee member and AOBA member.
